Maths

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning the 3x and 4x tables. The children love to use Topmarks -Hit the Button to develop fast recall. In class they have been looking at arrays and finding different ways to solve problems, for example 10 x 4 = 40, so what would 8 x 4 = ?

The children know that 40 - 2 lots of 4 would give them the answer. Here are a couple of children working hard in 3RW.

Volume and Capacity

08.03.19

This week we have been continuing to learn about measurement. We have learned that we measure length in mm, cm and metres. We have been measuring mass using grams and kilograms.

This week we have learned that we measure c volume and capacity using ml and litres. The children have been predicting the volume of different quantities, ordering and comparing them in least to most volume and then using measuring cylinders to fined the volume in ml and litres. They have neen working hard to find the intervals of the scales.

Here are some photographs from 3RW of the children in action!
