There are three classes in Year One; 1KO, 1BW and 1SC. Year One’s teaching team includes Miss Oakley (Teacher & Assistant Head), Mrs Warren (Teaching Assistant), Mr Beaver (High Level Teaching Assistant), Mrs Baxter (Teacher), Mrs White (Teacher), Mrs Clutton (Teaching Assistant) and Miss Cochrane (Teacher) and Mrs Williams (High Level Teaching Assistant). The children in Year One enjoy a varied and exciting curriculum with lots of continuous provision and creative activities. We work very hard to ensure that the transition from Reception to Year One is smooth and successful.

In the Autumn term the year 1 topic is Bog Baby. Bog Baby is a fantastic story and we are sure it will capture the imagination of all of the children! Please click on the link below to find out what we have been doing during the first term.
Footprints in the Snow
Leading up towards Christmas the Year 1 topic will be based around a story called Footprints in the Snow. Click on the link below to keep up to date with our learning journey.
During Spring term the Year 1 topic will be dinosaurs. Our learning will be based around a story called Tyrannosaurus Drip. To keep up to date with children's learning throughout this topic, click on the link below.
During the Spring term 2 the Year One topic will be Space. We will base our learning around a quality text called Beegu. Beegu is a little, yellow alien that is very confused, as she lands on Earth with a crash! Click on the link below to find out more and check out our space landing!
Keep in touch! You can usually find Miss Cochrane, Miss Oakley and Miss Boyle on the playground at the end of the school day.
