Kids Club Southport

Ofsted Inspection Report

Welcome to Kids Club Southport at Linaker Primary.

You can contact Sue Moir at any time on 07951 540919 to enquire about places, information etc.

You can ring the club mobile for any issues during club hours (ie 7.30am to 8.45am and 3pm to 6pm.)  The number is 07549 208889. This number is not in use outside of club hours.

I am delighted to be running the Breakfast and After School Club service at Linaker school.  Even though I know we are all going through difficult times at present, new children have been joining Kids Club over the last few weeks and we would love to see even more of you in our club to enjoy the activities we have to offer (please see below our picture gallery.)

Session times and prices

Breakfast Club runs from 7.30am to 8.45am and costs £4. Children are then taken up to start school.  After School Club runs from 3pm to 6pm and costs £9 for a permanent place and £10 for a casual place.  Holiday Club runs from 7.30am to 6pm for a full day and the price is £25 or you can book half a day morning from 7.30am to 1pm (price £13) and half a day afternoon 1pm to 6pm (price £12.)

'Magic Booking' online booking system

Once your child is registered on our online booking system all bookings can be made and paid for online. Invoices will not be issued routinely but can be accessed via the Magic Booking site should you need them. Payments can also be made by BACS, cheques and cash. See below for details about registering in the first instance. Any problems with the registration or booking can be referred to Sue (07951 540919)

How to register (NEW DETAILS TO LOG IN)

To access the create an account/log in page:

Please type into your browser: and create a new account. Follow the questions through until it asks you to go on your email and validate the account. Then log back in and click on 'children.' and then 'add child.' Finally, enter your child's details and then you are set up to book sessions.

Parent Handbook

Once your child is registered you will receive a copy of the club's handbook for parents via email which sets out all the relevant information you need for your child to attend the club.

Kids Club Southport takes its responsibility to safeguard the children in its care very seriously. All staff have safeguarding training. The Designated Safeguard Lead for the club is Sue Moir and the Deputy Safeguard Leads are Sarah Curran and Helen Tierney (see staff pictures below.) . Any concerns regarding Safeguarding within the club should be directed to Sue in the first instance and to Helen or Sarah if Sue is not on the premises.

Access via gates

Due to strict safeguarding procedures, the gates will remain locked at all times when children are playing in the outdoor area. A bell has been installed on the gate so you can alert us to your presence at the gate. Please give us a few minutes to make sure children have all their belongings before bringing them out. After approx 5.15pm when children are indoors the iron gates as well as the coded gate near the entrance will be open so you can come to the door and buzz for attention.

I have made my application for funding for this summer and should hopefully get the offer of funding the week beginning 6th June. I will put Summer Club up on the booking system straight after that. Many of you have been asking when they can book so it shouldn't be long now!

We are open from Monday 30th May to Wednesday 1st June during Half Term. We will be offering lots of free play with friends in the lovely weather (hopefully!) and there will also be activities each day relating to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee at the end of the week. The children will be making their own crown and creating mosaic pictures of all things royal to put on our jubilee display board. We hope to eat lunch on the grass on the Wednesday weather permitting. This will include some special items requested by the children. Please provide a packed lunch for your child each day.

Change of Club Name & addition of new school

From 1st May this year the club is breaking ties with the Franchise 'Sherpa Kids' and reverting back to its old name of Kids Club. We will be called 'Kids Club Southport.' In addition, Kids Club Southport will also be operating in Holy Trinity C of E Primary School in the near future. We are excited to start this new venture with Linda, the head teacher and in collaboration with Jacob who has been running the club thus far.

Activities this May

I am really pleased to announce that the winner of the new logo art competition is Ella Taylor. Well done to Ella! Her logo will appear on all our uniforms and paperwork. The winning design is at the top of this page.

Our theme for the month of May is Mythical Creatures. Many of the children love unicorns so we will be doing lots of art around unicorns and making unicorn fridge magnets. We will also be focusing on mermaids, fairies, The Loch Ness monster and other mysterious creatures.

Ofsted Inspection

During the Easter Holiday Club we were inspected by Ofsted. The inspector spent around 6 hours with us on 6th April and her report is now published and can be read at the top of this page.

Homework Time

We are happy to provide a table in a quiet place (well as quiet as possible!) for your child to do homework. We may not be able to sit and help your child throughout, but staff will do their best to assist if there are any problems. Please let me know if you want us to listen to your child read or prompt your child to complete homework during club time. Thanks

Kids Club Southport supports inclusion and welcomes children with special educational needs. Every effort will be made to ensure your child receives a fulfilling and positive experience whilst attending the club. Please see Sue prior to your child attending to discuss your child's individual needs so this can be logged and kept confidentially in the club for staff to refer to. We will need to know if your child requires a support worker when in school.

Policies & Procedures

All our policies and procedures, including those relating to SEN, can be made available on request. Please contact Sue regarding this.

If you are interested in bringing your child along to the club and feel you need help with the registration process, please contact Sue (07951 540919) or you can register independently on Magic Booking by entering into your browser

Create an account and add your child's details, after which you are ready to book sessions.

Many thanks

Hope to see you soon

Sue Moir
