Pablo Picasso 1881 - 1973
Hello children and a big hello to everyone at The Promenade Care Home who will be using our lessons and material to inspire them. I look forward to seeing what you all make.
This week our artist is Pablo Picasso who was a Spanish artist. During his long life he explored many different types of art with lots of different materials. He was a sculptor, a painter, a printmaker, a theatre set designer and he worked to create beautiful ceramic tiles. He created more than 20,000 works of art and used many different styles. He also created a particular type of art called Cubism with Georges Braque.
This week I include more information on the artist and his work but I have also been busy creating my first YouTube video to show you how you can create your own portraits in the style of Picasso. As there are different activities in there the whole video was 19 minutes long so you may want to fast forward or pick a section to watch or use it over several days.
I am finding it very relaxing to do more art and craft activities in my spare time so I hope you will do too. Please adapt it to whatever materials you have in the house and have fun.
If you can take a photo of your finished artwork and email it to us we can add it to the gallery.
