The importance of Early Years...
The early years curriculum is based on learning through exploration and play. There are a number of ways you can help your child to learn and make progress:
- Always be on time.
- Good attendance.
- Home reading and making sure your child brings their book bag to school every day.
- Point out numbers and letters in the environment.
- Count at every opportunity!
- Talk to your child about the world around them. Encourage their curious streak and pose questions starting with ‘I wonder...’
- Ask your child what he / she has been doing in school.
Visit the Reception 'Things you can do at home' page. Click here.
Our Curriculum....What do we learn and how do we learn it?
Each term we will follow a topic or theme that will provide a platform for us to deliver the Early Years Curriculum in a fun, exciting and meaningful way for the children. Below you will find our Knowledge Organisers. They will show you some of the activities that that the children will be taking part in and the knowledge and skills that they will be learning.
