As part of our RE topic we took a walk to the church to have a look at the different artefacts and ask the questions that we had written for Vicar Gibbs. Year one were praised on their outstanding behaviour. All of the children sat and listened to Vicar Gibbs and walked around the church sensibly as we learnt that a church is a very special place.

Vicar Gibbs welcomed us outside.
The children walked in their groups.
Vicar Gibbs spoke to us before we entered.
We sat and listened carefully.
Vicar Gibbs has lots of scarves.
He wears white for weddings.

We had a pretend wedding.
The groom waited for his bride.
The couple said "I do"
We saw beautiful windows.
There was a little church for smaller services.

Today (8th June) year one witnessed the wedding of two of our pupils; friends and family were all present.

What a special day?!

Guests received a favour to thank them for coming.
