Tuesday 23rd February Ch 10 lesson 2
LO: To be able to use the ten-frame method of organisation and place-value cards to assist pupils in writing numbers to 40; to be able to encourage multiple ways of counting, including counting by 2, 5 and 10.
Today we will be looking at ways we can group objects together to help us count. We can group them in 2’s. 5’s and 10’s. We will be using place value cards to help us.

This afternoon we are going to watch another episode of Pingu. We have chosen this one because we are thinking about 'flight', and in this story we have one bird that can fly and another that can't. Also it is very funny! We will think about the structure of the story - the beginning, middle and end. We will use the storyboard below to tell the story out loud.
Your independent task is to write the story, following the storyboard.
You can make it easier by writing one sentence for each picture.
You can challenge yourself by writing in more detail, and adding some description e.g. by describing the weather, Pingu's feelings or the lobster.
