We are proud!
March 2017
For homework this week children were asked to create a rocket for our space role play area. The Year One teachers were SO impressed with the effort all the children and grown-ups at home went to. It was very hard for Mrs Brown to judge the rockets and choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner from each class.
End of Spring term 2017
At Linaker Primary School we run a KS1 and KS2 reading competition. This is to encourage more children to read at home. Each term we start a fresh to give all children a equal chance to achieve the reward. This term children had to read a certain number of times to reach 'Bronze', 'Silver' and 'Gold' - some children even exceeded the reads for those rewards and reached 'Platinum'! WOW!
Have a look at some of our photographs from the special rewards; a 'wheely good day' (children were allowed to bring a wheeled toy to school to play with), Easter egg hunt and a special Easter disco. We all had lots of fun celebrating our success and children were extremely proud of themselves :-)

These two children have some VERY exciting news to share. They have been working so hard this week, that today they received a merit certificate and badge. Their reaction was the highlight of Miss Cochrane's week! These children are proof that hard work and determination really does pay off. Well done and keep up the good work!
Wednesday 3rd May 2017
Today we thought about different ways we can feel; happy, sad, worried, nervous, proud, excited etc. We decided to focus on the word 'proud'. We had a circle time and during this circle time we shared things we had achieved which made us feel proud. Lots of children said they went to out of school clubs such as swimming and gymnastics and shared their achievements of being moved up to the next group or receiving a certificate or badge and they said they felt proud! Some children said they were proud of themselves for moving up to the next book band, be able to count in twos and fives. See some of our work which followed our circle time discussion...
