Look at the picture side of the card- Shut the door
These aliens are going on a journey. The mummy alien says 'Shut the door'.
Read some green words with Miss Critchlow that contain the 'or' sound:
sh-or-t, s-p-or-t, f-or-k
I will Fred talk the words and you Fred talk after me. My turn, your turn.
Green words powerpoint: Fred talk the words and read them together.
Spell 'or' words using Fred fingers.
sh-or-t =3 sounds
s-p-or-t =4 sounds

This afternoon we will be using our numicon to make the numbers 11-15 and have a go at writing addition number sentences.
Home Learning Challenge:
Using your numicon-See how many different ways you can make the number 15. There are a few examples in the picture below but I'm sure you can find more ways. Post your pictures on the Fb page or send them to us via the Reception email.

Sound today - set 2 sound - ar
Look at the picture side of card - Start the car
These people are driving off in their smart car, they say 'Start the car!'
Mrs Howard to tell you some words with ar sound ( car, bar, start, park, sharp)
I will Fred talk the words and then you fred ralk after. My turn , your turn.
Show children some words with ar in. Lets see if we can fred talk them to read together.
Practise Fred fingers (spelling words) together. Mrs Howard model - fingers facing you.
c-ar = 2 sounds , so 2 Fred fingers. Children to get 2 fingers ready and touch each sound as they sound 'car' out.
Play obb and Bob - look at the words with 'ar' in - is it a real word or alien word? CLICK HERE if you want to play again at home.
'Oh no!! ' - Muddled up sentences!! Look at my powerpoint. The giant has stolen some words from my sentence. Lets help Jack fill in the missing words.

Extra activity (while the sun is out!!!) – have a look if there’s anything growing in your garden. Look for signs of spring. Can you see any new flowers growing?

Show children images of some sea creatures. Ask children to first of all estimate how many creatures they can see on the image - remember a estimate is a good guess!
Then play true or false. Look at the image of sea creatures. How many can you see? Is the amount I've written correct?

Look at the picture side of card - look at a book
Here is a little girl reading to a boy she says ' Look at a book'.
Mrs Howard to tell you some words with oo sound ( book, shook, look, cook)
Lets look at the sound side of the card. When we see the sound side we say 'oo'
Word time - look at green words with 'oo' sound in. (powerpoint)
Practise Fred fingers (spelling words) together. Mrs Howard model - fingers facing you.
l-oo-k = 3 sounds , so 3 Fred fingers. Children to get 3 fingers ready and touch each sound as they sound 'look' out.
Dance and stop phonics game - Play some music - then Mrs Howard will say a sound and you show me the sound card ( you should have them from your home learning task yesterday)
Go through Powerpoint. Show children some pictures from the Jack and The Beankstalk story. Discuss as we go. Retelling the story.
Message from The Giant – Telling children he is sorry for scaring Jack. Ask children to draw a character from the story and label the character.

Play your cards right - 'Higher' or 'Lower' game - we will work with numbers 1-20. If you want to play at home CLICK HERE Fingers point up if you think higher and point down for lower.
Look at my number sequence. There are some numbers missing. What number comes next? What number is missing? How do you know?

Discus the fact that the Beanstalk in the story has grown. I wonder how…

2. Get 5 pieces of paper – write sounds out (ay , ee, igh, ow, oo ) –Children will need this ready for tomorrow morning zoom session.
3. Children to draw (or paint) their own beanstalk. Write what they would like to be at the top of their beanstalk.

Home Learning task for this afternoon
'2d Chick' - sheet in your home learning pack. Have a look at the different shapes. How many triangles can you see? How many circles? Are there any shapes you can't see?
Cut the shapes out (independently if possible to practise cutting skills and develop those fine motor skills). Make a chick! Send photographs of your work to me.

Jenny Wren works for Sefton and is a music expert! She will be joining us for a Zoom session, every Monday.
For anyone who missed their phonic session slot, I will be in contact to re-book a time convenient for you.
*I will be altering the phonic 'virtual classroom' groups soon, so please keep an eye on whether your child changes groups.

Go through Mrs Howard's powerpoint. Discuss what I did in the half term holidays.
Show children the picture I've drawn and the word bank I used to support my writing.
Home Learning task for this afternoon
In your new green workbooks draw a picture of something you did during half term. Then write a sentence underneath. You can use the word bank to help (attached below). Remember children - sound out as many words as you can! Grown-ups - please don't worry about spellings, as long as children have a try spelling phonetically.
