Now, have a go at the power point presentation game - ‘direct speech punctuation’. There are two further power points:
1) Use and punctuate direct speech, this well help understand direct speech and build upon their knowledge.
2) T2-E-1581, this identifies the difference between Reported speech v direct speech. Pupils need to know this, but working on direct speech and associated punctuation is a great start to build upon.
To finish off, take a look at the resources and choose a suitable worksheet for your child to try to complete.

We have put together a number of resources so the children can practice the skill of knowing when to use a possessive apostrophe. To start, watch the Bitesize video and have a go at the quiz. Then watch the slide show and try the activities attached. After that, move on to the worksheet, referring to the video or slide show if necessary to embed learning. When you are done and after a challenge, try some of the activity sheets.
