Welcome to Year Three!
There are two classes in Year Three; 3LT and 3WM. Year Three's teaching team includes Mrs Lavelle/Mrs Thomas (Teachers 3LT) and Mr Wilson-Maher (Teacher 3WM). The support staff in Year Three are Mrs Taylor and Mrs Jackson.
On Monday and Tuesday, Mrs Thomas teaches in 3LT and on Wednesday-Friday Mrs Lavelle teaches the class.
On Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Woodward and PDS teach both classes as Mrs Thomas and Mr Wilson-Maher are out of class. On Thursday afternoons, Mrs Jackson teaches in 3LT as Mrs Lavelle is out of class.
The children in Year Three enjoy a varied and exciting curriculum with lots of creative activities. The teachers update this page with photos and information from each Topic; make sure you check back for regular updates!

Britain from the air
In autumn term 1, Year 3's focus is learning about Britain. In Geography, we will be learning about the term bird's eye view, using different sources to view Britain from the air, discussing the features and researching famous landmarks. In DT, we will be designing, making and evaluating a new landmark for Southport.
In History, the children need to study a theme in British History that extends their chronological knowledge. Crime and Punishment grabs the children's attention straight away as they learn about the changes of social history from the Anglo-Saxons to the present.
