Year 3
A very warm welcome back to you all!
There are two classes in Year 3.
3LJ is taught by Miss Jackson and 3DH is taught by Miss Dickson.
We also have a wonderful support staff that includes, Mrs Jackson, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Wright.
The children in Year 3 enjoy a varied and exciting curriculum with lots of creative activities. The teachers will be updating this page with photos and information from each Topic; check back here for regular updates!
Things you need to know...
Reading Books
Your child will be given two books per week to read at home. We are continuing with the system we used last year to change reading books but will review it during the year. This means that books are untouched for 72 hours before they are reallocated.
Books for the week, will be given out on a MONDAY. Books are to be returned on a FRIDAY.
This will mean that you don’t have reading books at home over the weekend, however you will also receive a log in for 'Lexia' or ‘Reading Plus’ so that your child can access reading online. Please remember to sign your child’s green reading diary each time you hear them read.
Homework
Your child will receive Maths and English homework every Friday and will need to be returned by Wednesday the following week.
PE days
PE lessons take place every Monday (outdoors) and Thursday (indoors). Children should come to school dressed in their PE kit instead of their uniform – a white t-shirt, black shorts, black pumps or trainers and their school jumper or cardigan. They may wear black leggings or jogging bottoms as the weather gets colder. Children should not wear earrings on PE days for their own safety.
Please make sure that all your child’s uniform including PE kit and coat, is clearly marked with their name. Clothing is easily misplaced or mixed up.
