Year 4
Welcome to Year 4
Our team consists of Mrs Evans (Year group leader and Class Teacher), Mrs Houghton (Class Teacher) and Mrs Wright (Teaching Assistant). Mrs Woodward teaches us Spanish. We also work closely with the Year 3 team. Please catch us at the end of the day if you need to speak to us or email year4@linaker.org.uk.
Key Information -
PE Days -
PE is every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon this term and whenever the weather permits, the lesson will be outside, so suitable PE kit will be essential - jogging bottoms & tracksuit tops might be important additions to the standard kit! Children must come to school dressed in their kit.
Music is every Friday afternoon. Please make sure you bring your violin or cello on this day.
Homework - Maths and English Homework is set on Fridays for completion and hand in by Wednesday.
Reading - Children are given up to 3 new reading books on a Monday, which must be returned on a Friday. These are then quarantined over the weekend and are changed by the children on the following Monday. Regular reading remains the greatest support that parents can offer their children. As children progress in reading, discussion of the books becomes as important as listening to them read - by Year 4, the children need to be able to identify simple themes and make predictions using evidence from the text.
All children have been given log ins for Reading Plus or Lexia. Any problems, speak to your class teacher.
