The Linaker Curriculum
Our Flourish curriculum has been designed to provide a bespoke, unique and exciting learning experience which, through the nurturing of curiosity and creativity, aims for our pupils to develop into articulate lifelong learners with high aspirations. Within the broad and balanced approach, we place an important emphasis on developing individuality within a community and promoting well-being and health with reading and mathematics as the key to everything we do.
Our ‘knowledge engaged’ approach to subject disciplines, provides opportunities to build upon knowledge and skills. Subjects are discretely taught (using development matters and the National curriculum as the basis and enhanced by pedagogical research) and focused upon progressively developing pupils’ knowledge, skills and vital vocabulary, attributes which our pupils can then take through every step of their academic journey and into future life.
All subjects are centrally driven by our core values which are interwoven through our curriculum.
Purpose
The purpose of our flourish curriculum is to ensure that our children are successful in life and learning, no matter what their starting points and barriers to learning may be.
