Key Information

What do we need?

Each day, your child should bring a book bag, coat and a bottle of still, unflavoured water. Please ensure that all of your child's belongings are clearly labelled as things can go missing.

PE

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a full, labelled PE kit in school, in their locker. Kits will be sent home for washing each half term. Please ensure that any ear rings are removed on these days to keep the children safe.

A PE kit should consist of; a white t-shirt, black shorts and pumps. Black joggers/leggings are encouraged in colder seasons. Children need to remove earrings before the lesson, if they are unable to do this, please do this at home.

Homework

Children will be given one piece of homework every week which needs completing. This will be discussed during the 'meet the teacher' session on Thursday.

Reading

Reading at home has a big impact on your child's learning. Listening to your child read is great but make sure you are also questioning them, this will help improve their comprehension skills. We ask you to ensure your child brings their reading book to school every day.

If your child has read their book with you, we ask you to sign your child's reading diary. Books will be changed on a Friday.

Year Two is an incredibly exciting period in our children’s learning journey. While in Year 2, the children will experience a diverse and fascinating curriculum, developing both knowledge and key skills. We work diligently to ensure that prior learning and progress from the EYFS and Year 1 are built on seamlessly and as optimally as possible.

Thank you for your support with this.
